Next account - how does it work?

Now I'm even more confused. I've just received through the post a letter from Next with a Credit Agreement document they want me to sign and send back. But hang on, I thought I had already entered into a credit agreement with them (as I have already been able to order and have goods delivered)? Do I have a credit agreement with Next or not? The account online seems to think I do, but the paperwork they're expecting me to agree to and sign seems to suggest I don't.

I thought it was odd at first. I almost thought I got away with getting a free pair of jeans. :p

Alas, no. What I do is order the stuff, wait like a week for them to appear on my account (on the website) and just pay them off as soon as possible otherwise I'll just end up forgetting if it was a month.

And don't get sucked into the next directory thing, I did at first thinking, it was just a one off catalogue and free delivery, but they kept coming. There is a number you can ring on the next website, like a automated system where you can cancel it completely. Touch wood I haven't had anything since. :o

its like a credit card but you buy their products with the card which is usable in the shop or online, then they send you/you buy the products in the shop, and they will send you an invoice which you then pay on the bill due date.

I tend to do it this way, much easier :)

What annoys me is why can't it just work like any other normal online shop? I.e. you put things in your basket and you pay for all your items in full when you checkout. Really baffles me as to why they give you a credit account

I ended up closing my account because they gave me a stupid credit limit and I wasn't even using it.

This.

Its so frustrating... I didnt want a credit account I just wanted to order online as normally I cant find half the stuff in my local store!!

The customer service is rather poor from my view, took 4 weeks to refund a pair of shoes I returned!!

Account closed... Simple!

All you've done is open a storecard.

Quite why you'd want to do this I'm not entirely sure.

It does it automatically. You don't get a choice on their website so don't try to sound so smart.

My girlfriend got stung like this with one of those money off vouchers.

Nowhere on the site did it give you a visible place to enter a code for £10 off your first order. You're screwed as well, as you can never use the code now as you are an existing customer.

Actually when I signed up there was an "incentive code" box or something to that effect. It showed the £10 discount but seemingly my first order has been charged at the standard price without the discount.

I hate NEXT online for this. I just want to pay for my stuff and go. No catalogue. No calling them in a months time caus they took too much money from my account. No calling them to cancel my account. Nothing.

Next are great with returns, I regularly order 2 sizes/colours of each thing to see what's best, due to the fact they don't take the money straight away, and it's a credit acct you don't have to worry about the refunds....
