Anyone else really excited about HDR? I am very much. First High refresh rate/Freesync monitor to support this will be on my shopping list. Some other Demos in the video but its all about HDR for me.

How much does a HDR add to monitor price ?

Well you can imagine it will be gouged, a lot if not most of the current crop of 4K TV's have HDR now, i know mine does.

Also my Google Nexus 6P has HDR and you can actually notice the vibrance of photos compared to my wifes Sony Z5 which arguably has the best camera in a Mobile Phone. My cameras photos often look a whole lot more vibrant than hers, although her cameras resolution is miles ahead of mine.

OVerall i definitely noticed a difference with it.

Yeah HDR camera capture has been around for years now. My old HTC desire had it, all phones I have owned since then has had it.

What does the graphics card do where HDR is concerned? I thought it was monitor based?

GPU needs to support it.

HDR monitors are more for the monitor section and you will get some decent informed responses there more than here.

Just like any other Monitor technology we talk about on here, needs a GPU

XL2730Z is fantastic

Mine goes 35-144 more than enough range. It's even better now lower range with the added LFC. No tearing below the refresh rate.

I did 27" 1440p 144hz Freesync is worth it my opinion. It's still cheaper than the competition.

HDR display same what I paid for this BenQ XL2730Z I'll be happy.
