Next-Gen NVIDIA and AMD GPUs Delayed to Q4 2013

Atari had 8 channel sound and the Amiga only had 4 but that was all the Atari had going for it :p

I started serious PCing with an A500 Amiga before going to the A1200 and foolishly, I bought an Amiga CD32 with microcosm game for free.....What a god awful game that was.

It took me a year to save the £400 notes for the A1200 and worth every penny. I modded it to fit a HDD in (32MB iirc) and that cost a fortune.

The poor Amiga failed because of poor marketing. It was well ahead of its time but never made it big over seas.

Bulletin Boards was the first internet and I ran up a £1000+ phone bill trying it out :(

Dailup ^^^ these kids today don't know how good they have it, 10 minutes on a 300 board modem for a naughty picture downloading from the Internet to fill your screen scrolling down line by line, if you were that lucky, often it would drop the connection for any number of a thousand possible reasons and your stuck with a part of it not being able to get the rest.....
 
Oh yes old download speeds, slow screen updates, Mandelbrot generators that would take 10 hours to process, those were the good old days, the £700+ phone bills of course weren't the good old days at all.

Your all making me feel so nostalgic :)
I'm 44 and i've owned almost all of the hardware mentioned on the last few pages at one point or another.
One thing that haunts me from times past is the sound of 56k modems dialing up and logging in, when ever i hear those bleepy squeeky sounds on an old film or tv program it really makes me cringe.
 
Anyone ever own a Sam Coupe?, mine got pinched/went missing when i moved house along with my Amiga 1200, Snes, Mega drive and mega cd along with all their games.

Can't say i'm not the least bit annoyed finding out Sam Coupes go on ebay for a fair chunk of change :(
 
I remember the magazines of the day relishing in the hate for other systems, by posting said hate mails in there letters section.

Them were the days. :D
 
How is it good news when GPU's get delayed?
Just so you can say "I have the fastest card on the market" or feel better about your purchase.

Because the current gpu's are still so powerful.

How is it bad news when gpu's get delayed when current gpu's still pwn pretty much everything out there?
 
They can't though?

There hasn't been any demanding games for years really.

Farcry 3 struggles
Crysis 3 beta struggles

These 2 are pretty much the newest games.

I suppose more releases this year will be struggle?

Could be bad coding but youd still expect console games to run decent with a 350+ card

Farcry 3 doesn't struggle on my 7850, my lows are ~40 so if higher cards don't get much better than that then isn't that a programming issue of the game itself? Same goes for Crysis 3, looks no better than Crysis 2 but runs like a dog.
