Also, typing onto a solid surface (with a projected keyboard) is ergonomically crippling.

Will you still be able to see the keyboard under direct sunlight? Also as mentioned you'll need something to project the screen onto and something to do the processing and store the information.

How does the projected keyboard work anyway? Surely most of your hand will be blocking the light?

Looks a bit lame to be honest. You'd still need two perpendicular, flat, light surfaces to put the thing on, it wouldn't work in bright light, the quality of the image and the ergonomics of the keyboard would be terrible, and to top it off you still need the computer itself.

It's all good and well making something that can project some light and a keyboard, but they need to fit a computer in there

As said, that IR keyboard is already on the market and is apparently crap. I'd prefer a good old keyboard any day over tapping the desk.

Yeah, I'm sure they've been around for a while. When we have one that projects it straight into your eye, then we're getting somewhere.
