Hi chaps.

Just wondering if any information is around for the next generations of laptops.

I currently have a dell xps15z (I7 3.6, 8gig ram, 2gig 640M) so I'm waiting on upgrading till something which will be a marked jump.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

Cheers,

KaHn

Intel's new Haswell CPU's have about a 20% increase in performance in comparison to the current 3rd gen, they also have extremely powerful iGPU's. Roughly the same as a 640M/650M
GPU wise, ATI arent making any new powerful 8xxx series this year, Nvidia are probably making the 780M but end of this year, the lower end cards such as the 730M and stuff are just re-brands of the current low end 6xx series.

If youre looking at buying a top end laptop now or waiting for new tech, you wont be super behind if you get it now
if youre looking at buying a mid range laptop or waiting, i would wait till Haswell, the iGPU/temps/heat makes it look really good compared to the 3rd gen atm

Cheers, it would be a top end machine but will probably wait till the new Nvidia cards are out as well, the 640M isn't as good as I had hoped.
