Next modenr step from Geforce 8800?

The specs say Maximum Digital Resolution 2048x1536 which sounds higher than I will use, so it will be fine. I don't really like the reses near that high.
 
Yes a 610 is a pretty low end card.

You have to look at it like this:

With the Nvidia cards the first number denotes which series it is, for this that is 6. So the 6 series.

Then the end 2 numbers say how far up/how powerful it is in that series, so for this its 10. So that's the lowest or 1st card in the 6 series. The highest single gpu in that series is a 680, so 80 for that.

You can get a 690 but it has two gpu's in it.

Hope this helps a little and what I have said is just a rough guide but will put you on the right track.

I'd say at that res the lowest you want is a 650 and that's pretty low by todays standards. At that res it won't be as bad though.

The most modern cards at the minute are the 7 series from NVidia and the R7/R9 from AMD.
