Yes i play at 1440p but games like res evil 4 remake vram gets to max so fast etc .....
I know what you mean, prob need a 16GB card to make sure you won't need more at that res. The 4070Ti Super will be an option for sure though, will have the vRam and only be about 10/15% slower than a 4080. Other than that see if AMD drop prices anytime soon too.

Are you struggling right now with your 3070? If you're not i would probably wait till next gen. We aren't a million miles away from next gen release, maybe as early as October.

You forget that the 4070 was released 6 months after the 4080/90 though (April), they may pull that same trick again and too long to ask the OP to wait.

4090 :p
Jokes aside I would just wait for the 5000 series at this point. Hoping they bring better value.
I only upgraded to the 4090 as it was discounted TBH.

So are you trying to justify buying a new card to us or yourself? ...my take is that if you don't actually have a problem with vram now, an actual problem that is limiting you ...then just wait until you do start to see one, because that may be far enough into the future that you can do better than you can now not only for your money but just better outright. But if you just have an upgrade itch and you want to buy something new, sure why not, but I would hold fire a just a little bit until after the 24th of the month though for the 4070 Ti Super 16GB as a 4070 or 4070 Super just isn't going to bring enough to the table in my opinion.

3070 myself, its/was a mid range you cant expect it to run AAA games at full fat ultra, with time majority if fact all will need to back down settings in time, we less that a yr out for 5000 series, unless your flush with cash, then go ahead. and then complain with next launch :D

My 3070 for WQHD doesn't really cut. I only wish it was was 12GB same as 6700xt Even selling my 3070 and getting a used 6800xt sounds like upgrade to me.

Out of the new Super lineup I'd say the 4070ti super is the most interesting tbh. I doubt it'll be far behind a regular 4080 and isn't a terrible MSRP in the current market.

I recently switched from a 3060ti to a 4070, I'm also running a 5800x3d and have no regrets personally. I will say that if my 3060ti had a little more vram I'd probably have kept it. I seriously considered AMD and think that the 7800xt is an excellent card at its point in the market, but I couldn't get away with fsr compared to DLSS.

In this climate switching to a 4 year upgrade cycle is the way to go and I would almost certainly bet on the 5070 having 16gb VRAM with the way the 4070S has just been received in terms of the low release day sales so hold off if you can.
