Hey all, just a small query relating to SSDs, I bought a 30GB OCZ Vertex SSD in May time for about £127, has been absolutely brilliant, a real step up and could never go back to a mechanical drive over something like this, the only problem however, being very inevitable, was that even with W7 Beta and a few apps installed, was pretty much full.

I've agreed with someone to sell it to them for £85, which I feel was a fair price, but just looking for a bigger SSD now, ideally a 128 but I think a 60 should do the trick too, as I have 2 x Samsung F1 750GB's for mass storage, game installation etc..

Ideally not looking for anything slower than the Vertex, but open to any ideas that will provide equal or better performance.

Cheers :)

Crucial M225's at £150 for 64GB should do the trick. Same internals as a Vertex.
Shame you diddn't want to trade up a couple of months ago, launch price was £102 before the NAND market recovered.

The Intel X25-M 80GB is another decent drive if you can't afford to get 128GB worth of SSD.

Thanks mate, yeah thats the one I was thinking, the Intel is a little more than I would like to spend right now, mostly due to it being an OS/App drive.

I think the Crucial should be the one though, never knew it was £102 in the past though  Damn!

Could always get another 30GB vertex and RAID0 them together :p Thats what I did, managed to get one drive for £70 and another a bit later for £75. Obviously reliability is a bit better with just one drive but RAID 0 is a little bit faster which is nice :)

But yea, I missed out on the cheap M225. Saw it when it was around £115 and was tempted then the price just kept going up and I never got one :( Was a massive bargain though!
