Next step up from Arctic Freezer 7 Pro?

I bought a new motherboard the other day, so I've been going a bit nuts with my new-found CPU overclocking potential. Of course, I've hit the temperature barrier. I'm using an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro, and was wondering what the next step up from there is?

Something I was also going to ask. How does the 90 version of the thermalright compare to the 120 in peoples opinions? Just considering maybe not having such a huge HSF blocking air flow

I only ask because I'm thinking of getting a lian-li v1000z when it comes out and know it will be a pretty quiet case and was thinking of getting a thermalright with a silent fan to keep it that way. My Freezer 7 can be quite noisy at times and the like the idea of having a silent fan.

Looks nice, few Qs:

- What temps do you get with, idle + load?
- Is it as quiet as it is built up to be as I'm not running passive but I like quiet

Also does it come with a converter to allow it to be put into a 4-pin mobo power connection. I'm using an Abit ip35.

Sorry if these sound simple but I know very little about heat sinks but that one does look very cool :)

well ive got the artic on and had the tuniq tower before and there was no difference in temps with both of them at idle and at load, you might aswell go water than get a tuniq IMO

Water. doubt you will see that much difference with a true / TT. If you were to sell your existing heatsink and then put the extra £30 that you were going to spend on another heatsink, thats probably £45-£50 that could be invested in water cooling.

I saw a very noticable difference when I went from the AC to a Titan Vanessa-L 120. Not massive differences in temp, but in noise- the AC had to run flat out to cool the overclocked pentium D I had, while the Vanessa-L was just ticking over for the same temps. Under orthos they both ended up within a degree or so. The AC's a decent little cooler for what it is but the towers are, for my money, a good bit better. I'm not sure why the AC is still held in such regard, yes it's cheap but then it's only a tenner less than a Thermalright 120. (I've found that the Thermalright with no fan performs about as well as the AC!)

Tuniq Tower's overrated, but then everyone recommends what they have so you should probably take that for granted- it's a good cooler but not anything out of the ordinary really, and its fan is a bit rackety at speed.

Lots of good choices these days tbh.

What is your overclock? if you are close to the limit then spending a fortune on a new cooler might not be economically sound. (not that cost stops any of us buying new toys:D)
