Looks like no chuck vs Mauricio Rua

Mauricio Rua has withdrawn from his June 7 bout in London against Chuck Liddell due to a ruptured ACL in his left knee, the UFC announced Tuesday on its Web site.

The injury is the same one that the 26-year-old Rua suffered in 2007. After his loss to Forrest Griffin, "Shogun" had surgery to repair his knee. Now another surgery will be scheduled soon, according to the UFC

This is rubbish... First they pulled Lesnar so he could get an easy fight against an ex-legend. Now this.... hope things improve soon!

damn thats pretty rubbish:/

i thought it was odd that they were just advertsing Liddel for UFC 85 but never stated who he was fighting. what a load of &^%% &%$"£. it better not be a Keith Jardine rematch neither.

I think Lidell will have to fight so it's just a matter of who the opponent will be... Here are the candiadates with the potential likelihood of the fight happening.

1) Keith Jardine (Highly likely)
2) Matt Hamill (Possible)
3) Michael Bisping (Very Unlikely)

Any others?

Rampage = i wish

Wanderlei Rematch?

if they wheel bisping out im gonna try and get a refund.

I think Dana White wants best buddy Chuck to get a final title shot ASAP... If he'd beat Shogun he could be considered a top contender, as it stands now he may struggle unless they can put him up against someone decent.

Doubt if Bisping will go back up to be honest... Wouldn't mind seeing Chuck KO him however.

i know but forest beat shogun so arguably he is number 1 contender.

maybe chuck leapfrog Shogun and then Dana gives shogun a shot at chuck when he is champion again?

There is no way he'd put Chuck up against Bisping, who seems to have lost his way somewhat, but at least he's training with Rampage and co now, so he might pick up a bit.

Chuck v Rampage would be a great fight and even Forrest might put up a bit of a fight. I don't think Chuck would want a Wanderlei rematch yet.

Griffin is fighting Rampage at UFC 86 so you can pretty much rule those 2 out !

EDIT Also Wanderlei will announce a fight with Jardine so that's another 2 opponents gone!
