Got a really bad upgrade itch right now and I'm not sure where to go next. My Rig is in my Sig. Already got an SSD. Where would you guys go next? My monitors are just 1080p @60Hz.

Erm two options IMO for first. New monitor or sli. Oh or flog the card and get a 980ti

The CPU motherboard and ram would all be next :)

is there any particular issues you're facing? Upgrading to 16gb ram might be useful if you tend to run other programs alongside games

what ress do you game at and what games do you play? what monitor do you have?

your system seems fine in your sig and the only things i would "maybe" change is get a SSD if not got 1 already and maybe a nice new montior.

GPU, mobo, RAM and CPU are all fine unless you are getting issues in games or anything else you do?

Started my degree and my programming software is fairly slow so that'll be down to CPU. But then I feel like my GPU can't hold up either, find myself struggling to maintain 60fps in a lot of games even just on high.

Although just seen a really good deal on a 500gb Eco though which means I could dro my HDD completely. Hmmm

Just 1080p, I have an OS ssd. My main monitor is fine I don't feel like going above 1080 is worth it atm. The RAM is some crap 1333Mhz alcatel 1 8gb stick

Get better ram and 16gb its so cheap atm

I would consider a RAM upgrade but I doubt that would make a massive framerate boost.

Maybe upgrade your CPU to an i7? then wait till NVidia release Pascal GPUS and get one of them with a Ultra wide curved monitor the samsung one looks awesome :D

I was thinking an i7 I've got a spare z87 mATX BOARD knocking about. Pascal and an decent monitor would so expensive as much as I'd love it!

maybe get some better\faster ram then, its cheap as anything and should keep quite that itch to upgrade for a bit longer lol but dont know how much of a improvement it will make

to be honest i wouldn't upgrade anything for the time being na dkeep what you have.

wait for the next Nvidia GPUs to come out and then maybe get a new gpu.

way i look at it is I5 K version for gaming and then I7 for gaming and video editing etc.

Better get saving ;)

Go for better RAM and play the wait and see game in terms of a GPU performance.

I am just lost by why the card isn't holding up. Surely it should be able to run pretty much any game atm at max at 60fps @1080p? Am I wrong?

Game requiremtns and hardware are increasing at a huge rate a 780ti is the same as a 970 IIRC The 980TI is essentially twice as fast and still some games aren't perfect when run on one!

Very much correct. But is it worth forking out so much when Pascal is maybe 4-6 months away?

I would personally be forking out on a nice Gsync monitor if i was him :) Would make a huge difference to his perceived performance and be more competitive as well as looking better.

Is it worth just buying another 8gb stick and adding it to my current one, or am I better off buying 2 x new 8gb sticks?

I would upgrade to faster RAM this will be my next upgrade.

Im also wanting to get a new monitor still looking to stay with 1080 but want a 144mhz rather than my 60mhz

Erm i would just try and get another 8gb stick that the same brand / serial number as your current one.

but really if your just gaming it won't make a single fps difference.
