This is the item:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_991023_langId_-1_categoryId_265853

Seems to have the basics such as 1080 recording and GPS. Built in screen seems useful too.
Want to get something but without spending too much. Some similar units seem to be upwards £200.
What am I missing with this one?

A more general question.
How do people tend to route the cabling for these down to the power plug?

**Edit**
Just had another look and this one:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_991025_langId_-1_categoryId_265853

Which seems to het good reviews and is apparently recommended by these as providing 'evidential' quality.

Not sure how much store i should put into that site?

Thanks.
Interesting video and reviews as well as his site!
Didn't realise the 302 had the infrared on it as the site photo is the back. Not sure i would have realised it was a problem either.

From watching that video though, most 'features' seems to be of little use. i had already considered the implications of GPS and speed showing!

Doesn't look like he has reviewed the nextbase cameras, but there are some comments on his site.
They seem to be fine.

How much was yours pepsilol, looks dead easy to fit and pretty compact :)
Is there an option for a rear view one too? or is it a case of just buying 2?

You can get ones where they film the cabin inside the car and the front of the car but a real rear view you would need two.

Super happy with mine

Exceeds all my expectations and is better than my Roadhawk

This, i got one of these via the rain forest site, make sure you get the class 6 samsung micro sd card, 32gb is only about £12, do not get class 10 memory as it might have issues when it comes to overwriting itself with the video loops.

You can order with or without the GPS module, id recommend it, as it works really well, the on screen Speed is optional and can be disabled as well.

That looks a very neat little device.
Good price too. I hadn't realised there were so many cheaper ones now that are good.
Only really aware of the Blackvue ones, which are a bit expensive.
Obviously they need to be decent quality and reliable, but £200+ is still hard to justify!

The 20131202 firmware fixed the class 10 card support, mine has been working happily on this firmware with a SanDisk class 10 for 3 months with no issues.

Ha tech moan must live near my parents as a lot of the video is right by their house.

Looks pretty good actually.

I notice the spec of the Mini 0801 shows it has a lithium battery.
Any ideas how long it will run on this without needing a charge?

Just wondering if it would be easier to use it like that, than wire it into the car.

Few reliability issues on some reviews but think I might give one a go.

In the video he states only about 10 minutes

I have an 801 as well, super easy to fit (got mine behind the rear view mirror), great quality footage and has been working very nicely.

Only drawback of dash cams really is wiring them in neatly can be a pain.

Did you have a hard ware kit or what did you use to hard wire?

I bought a ~12V - 5V DC power supply, then I soldered it into the back of my Z4's radio wiring harness (rather than the cigarette lighter as the cig lighter is always live and I didn't want to drain the battery). The power supply has 2 USB connectors, so then it was simply a case of connecting it up to a long USB cable for the camera. I ran the USB cable behind the dashboard then up the A-pillar and along the top of the windscreen, so it's only visible at the base of the A-pillar for about 4" before going into the left hand vent and behind the dash.

Search "12V to 5V USB DC-DC Buck Converter" on the rainforest.
