Nexus 5 2015 refresh

Hopefully this one has gone back to the successful formula of cheap but highly spec'd.

Sure the Nexus 5 wasn't the best build quality, but I enjoy the specs more than how cold a phone feels from some special polymer metal which I don't need.

I also like the idea of having the fingerprint reader on the back of the devices providing it works smoothly. I think it would make it much more natural for when you take the phone out of you pocket with one hand and want to unlock it. Rather than having to reach for the home button with your thumb you can just press you index finger against the thumb reader on the back. Sounds more ergonomic to me.

I'm not liking this recent trend of protruding and bulging cameras on the backs of phones. If the device isn't going to be entirely flat then just make it a few mm thicker and fit a larger batter in the extra space. Or design it so that the device is curved and thicker in the center where the camera is then thinner at the sides. I guess a bulge isn't that noticeable if you add a case to a phone, which most probably will, but it seems like a poor design to have it in the first place. It's like Apple engineers cocked up the iPhone 6 chassis and camera lens then everyone else thought it was a fashion statement to make theirs stick out as well! Heck Huawei have even copied the Apple antenna bands on their Nexus device. I wonder if they're actually functional or are just aesthetic :)

Well, I hope it's a fake, that is ugly! Protruding camera is a big no. The fingerprint scanner looks out of place as well.

That puckering camera doesn't look pretty. I suppose Nexus's never have though - they've all been rather subtle and understated. Not necessarily a bad thing, but that's not doing much for me aside from the camera annoying me.

I assume that makes the Huawei render accurate too. Not a fan of the strip along the top, but first feeling is that it generally does look better than the new 5, though far too "iPhoney".

Is everyone looking at the same pictures? They look good to me! Actually I think they are the nicest looking Nexus phones to date.

The Huawei looks like a cheap iPhone ripoff. The LG doesn't look great but I reserve judgement until we see some more shots.

Me too! I love the look of the LG version render. Looks sleek. Personally I'm not a fan of the glass rear on the latest Samsung phones. They only look good in press shots and showrooms when untouched.

I would much rather have high quality soft touch plastic. Also I wouldn't mind paying extra for better build materials just not too much like the latest high-end phones.

Also, please come with at least 3000mAh battery! LG G2 could do it 2 years ago whilst remaining compact so why not now
