Nexus 5 leaked

Vic Gundotra, Google SVP of Social has said the event will be live streamed, probably meaning YouTube but no doubt we will get a link later today. Remember, this event is billed as G+, not Nexus, but I am hoping we get a "Sergey Brin moment"---remember when they sky-dived into the SF convention centre with their Google Glasses?---this time with a Nexus 5 and perhaps companion Nexus smartwatch? One can hope!

Anyone know if these G+ events are normally streamed?

Most of big G+ announcements were part of a bigger Google event, never seen a stand alone G+ announcement stream, Posts/Feeds yes but not a live stream event just for G+.

I still don't think this will be the N5 event though, I hope it is but somehow I know its not

If the below is true, the the Nex5 is bigger than the 4 and taller than the GS4. Lame.

N4 - 133.9 x 68.7 x 9.1 mm

GS4 - 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm

ZL - 131.6 x 69.3 x 9.8 mm

Not by much. It's certainly not enough to put me off.....I'm using my phone more and more as a tablet as it is, so I only see that as an advantage really.

Might not be the best place to ask this but here goes, can anything beat a (hopefully) sub £200 Nexus 4 as a new (christmas present) phone for my maw? She has an Orange San Fran just now, and she quite likes Android even though it's just for calls and texts. All I'm worried about is that it may be slightly too big, and that the battery life might be garbage. She moans now that she has to charge her San Fran every night, is the N4 the same?

Was supposedly going to be smaller than the N4 and be around the size of the ZL.

For it to be taller and thicker than the S4 with a smaller battery and onscreen buttons, I'm a little disappoint.

We're talking minute differences, really...and the onscreen buttons vanish when watching a video anyway :)

I can see the smaller battery being a problem for some, but I've gone one of these for when we go away: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Astro3-1200...?ie=UTF8&qid=1383048037&sr=8-3&keywords=anker

There is a video on YouTube of a guy clipping various phones into the nexus 5 case. The end result was the nexus 5 was the same size as the galaxy s4. On my phone at work and can't find the link sorry.

The Nexus 4 screen is 4.7 inches; the Nexus 5 4.95 inches so although the Nexus 5 is a bit bigger, it isn't that much bigger considering the increased screen size. So Nexus 5 is wider and taller but slightly thinner compared to the Nexus 4. I can't imagine too many people will be able to feel the difference between the Nexus 4 and 5 when it's in their pocket. :)

IOS and thicker plastic would be the reasons for this I would guess, Samsung uses super thin yet extremely tough plastic which it never gets credit for.

I was hoping for it to be super compact like the Xperia ZL - never mind, we have more important things like an official announcement and a release date to bloody rear its head :D
