aye its a pity as I REALLY want to keep this tablet but my concern is the price plummets , I would think the software issues can be fixed though, getting down to the wire for me now tho lol.

Well im trying to do this manually, not with great success.

Im not getting the pop up "Allow USB debugging" on my device so when i do the "adb devices" command, its listing nothing.

u tried checking and unchecking both options(oem unlock and A N other)?

Incidentally Ive had it running a movie using MX player for 22 minutes and its only used 3% battery.

I've unticked both, even changed over machines. Still can't get any devices shown.

def using latest tools?, id def check that and reboot it whilst connected I think sorted that for me once whilst doin it.

BTW 1 hour playing movie using MX Player with HW decoder used only 8%, would seem to suggest chrome is sucking battery as approx 3 mins browsing uses 1% battery.

Right ive unlocked the bootloader now, I was derping, hadn't installed the adb driver

Trying to do the Root now, but the website he links you too is down which sucks lol

There all rooted and updated to lrx21q now.

Now to charge and then test it. Cheers for help newbie and I'll let you know my results.

So my OH was using it today, apparently it came up with a message about an update, which she done.

All the work last night undone, no longer rooted etc lol

Now on LRX21R.

Hmm just noticed with mine, where its getting hot (around an inch below the camera, and half an inch to the right) my chassis has a dimple, would appear the heat its generating its causing this.

I'm still going ahead and returning mine, not happy with it at all.

I started RMA earlier but still undecided as I really like aspects of it though the battery drain when browsing is a huge negative for me.

I love size and weight and 4:3 etc, but battery drain is rubbish and like I said mines showing a dimple where its getting hot.

No idea what I'd buy instead tbh, or just wait till these get fixed.

Yes, already saving £40 by returning and buying from Amazon if you like, if they don't fix things quick price will drop further. Some people on XDA saying the latest update you got is failing for them, seems like a shambles tbh.

Googles return process has been lousy so far, still awaiting returns packaging, been a week lol.

Giving them another phone call tomorrow.

I'm just disappointed that this device has so many troubles, set my sights on this moment 8.9 rumours came out, perfect size for me etc.

I love most aspects of it but the poor battery life when browsing is hugely disappointing, you happy with battery life?

I'm still interested in one but I'm holding off until later next month to see if the problems are fixed and hopefully the price will come down.

Maybe I'm being dense here so forgive me. But if Chrome is proving such a battery drain surely just use an alternative browser until Google fix it?
