***Nexus One Thread***

My phone's shipped, but having some issues with the tracking number. When I got the email last night, it said the phone had been delivered in January to somewhere in Londonderry, and this morning it just says the tracking number is invalid. Worth contacting DHL? I've had invalid tracking numbers with parcel firms before; usually it just isn't on the system yet so I'm not sure whether to leave it a few hours.

You won't get stung on import duty for the phone [They aren't elligible for it, unlike the additional charger - I didn't buy one from Google, I just use a generic mirco USB charger from a BB]

Is the additional charger the desktop dock thing? Hoping not since I quite like the look of that.

It'll be the additional UK charger, dock AND battery, all of which are now options, and all are eligible for import duty, only the actual phone is excluded for reasons I'm not quite sure.... All phones are excluded, not that I'm complaining

A battery is included, its more for an spare one

Right I need help boys! I've had the phone ages now and the internet's been working fine with one of the APN's I got on the O2 forums but I can't for the life of me get MMS working. I'm on O2 payasyougo web and text - tried in chomp and handcent. Can anyone get me a working APN?

I had the same problem, spent ages trying to get it working trying different settings so I feel your pain!

These are for contract but you only need to change a few things in the mobile web for PAYG.

There are 2 APN's.

APN 1.

Name: Mobile Web
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
Proxy: not set
Port: not set
Username: web
Password: password
Server: not set
MMSC: not set
MMS proxy: not set
MMS port: not set
MCC: 234
MNC: 10
Authentication type: not set
APN type: default (you actually have to type in default)

APN 2.

Name: O2 MMS
APN: wap.o2.co.uk
Proxy: not set
Port: not set
Username: o2wap
Password: password
Server: not set
MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
MMS proxy: 193.113.200.195
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 234
MNC: 10
Authentication type: not set
APN type: mms

I can't remember the exact ones you need to change but if you have the net working you could just leave that APN alone but take out anything relating to mms like I have in my first APN.

If you're changing the APN I THINK the APN name is payandgo.o2.co.uk and the username is payandgo everything else is the same as in my first APN.

The MMS APN should be the same as mine.

I hope that makes sense!

I've kept my old internet APN (it has no MMS stuff in it) and added your MMS one but still no luck. I'm bamfoozled :( Does the payasyougo sim need a different MMS one too?

I'm on the 1 Month Online simplicity plan with a web bolt on.. I've put the two APN's as above and the internet works flawlessly.. but no MMS still :( . I've tried all sorts of settings but it just won't work! Any ideas? I've googled it like mad and not found anything!

Apparently lots of people having this problem according to the forum, and phones getting delivered to random places like Uganda, Afghanistan etc. Google customer support don't seem to care.....oh dear, this is not sounding brilliant.

I'm still having issues with 3G on Vodafone. It's a contract sim-only tariff and the nexus only ever displays the little 'G' simple which I think means it's stuck on GPRS.

On one occasion I had the '3' come up. I don't know how, but at some point it worked and now it doesn't and I don't know why!

If there's anyone out there on Vodafone with the Nexus can you tell me what APN settings you are using because I've tried a variety with no success. Thanks!

(oh yea - I also have MMS issues, but understand it's to do with the size of the image not being automatically reduced by the phone)

Well what do you know - just checked and mine was set on that too. I am sure I never put it on that - could an app or a widget have done it?

Thanks so much - that was driving me bonkers!

No problem, glad to help! :)

Woooooooooooooooooooooo my Nexus one comes today!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Well it came yesterday after a lot of nervous waiting, and its really good. it doesn't really do anything my HTC magic didnt do, but it does everything with such aplomb that it makes me realise just how first gen and unspecified the magic was. Whilst I've had a few stutters here and there, on the whole the experience is very snappy.
