Nexus Prime

It has substance, the moment you turn the screen on it is instantly better than almost all other phones that don't use a large AMOLED screen.

If you really want more heft or feel then the extended battery is £20 away and adds a bit more weight and feel to the phone dimensions.

But, the screen is a completely different factor.
It's an amazing screen no doubt, but that isn't part of the weight and feel of the phone.

If I was in the market for a phone it would probably be the SGS2 purely because of the screen and the size, but I'd prefer the weight to be a bit more and be made of something other than plastic.

IMO I don't see plastic as a high end material

The plastic used in the S2 is high end though, it's more expensive than aluminium according to a few sources! Probably why it's so unbreakable.

If people want to dislike it because it's light weight, that's fine. But they really should stop saying 'its cheap' or 'poorly made' because it simply isn't true. That's all I ask...

And as they should be if they are dropping a large sum of money on a product.

I'll admit the back battery cover bending is pretty awesome, but I'd prefer a much stiffer setup.

And in regards to the Simpsons, he complains that toys always break these days ;)

I don't like the SGS2, because of how light it is. I prefer something with a bit more substance tbh

Nobody is forcing you to buy it though so if you don't like the material it's made with then just buy something else.

I actually like how light it is. Yeah, it's not all metal and glass like the iPhone et. al but it's comfortable to hold and doesn't weigh my pockets down.

And it doesn't creak or flex like the plastastic Nexus S.

Lets be honest here. I have the 3GS currently and have a 4S on order and ive had a SGII and i preferred how light the SGII was!

It was very light and no way as heavy as a 4! That does not mean its bad quality!!!

Bad quality is just fan boy speak for I wish my phone was as light and durably as a S2 QQ

Switching from an iP4 straight to a GS2 and initially it does feel a bit cheap but only because the iP4 feels very high quality. It was the only phone I was using for well over a year so I noticed the difference instantly however saying that, I have been using the GS2 for a few weeks now and it feels quite solid and well built and I have got use to the weight.

I should add my iP4 actually broke, the button at the top just got stuck and it was never dropped or anything. So much for 'feeling' high quality. ;) Apple being apple replaced it straight away no questions asked though.

Back on to the Nexus Prime...

Which is interesting, as it was one of the most durable phones ive owned.

I think what people fail to realise is that plastics are not a stagnant technology... new advances are constantly being made and they are lighter and stronger than never before... but that doesn't necessarily mean cheap.

That is very true, but it seems in many peoples mind, including my own, that plastic is a "cheaper" quality than metal

Well that's not how it works. I base my choice of phone on the phone as an entirety, as I said earlier.
So if I was going to get a phone to replace my Desire it'd be the SGS II purely because it is the better phone out of the choices.

I still wouldn't be happy with the feel of the phone though
