Nexus Prime

well im happy with the SGS2, people moan about the back plastic cover, but seriously its a battery cover. saying that i will be getting this phone. selling my S2 on ebay should leave me only needing to add £100 - £150. even though touchwizz is quite nippy and i use roms with and without it im keen to get a 'pure android' phone and give the rooting/roms/freezing apps a miss for a while. I hate bloatware and unwanted apps. First thing i do when i buy a laptop is format the thing! grrrrr unwanted bloattrashware. I also look fwd to getting the updates direct from google rather than 2nd hand and months later from htc/samsung...if at all!

Yep.

Build quality.
'Low res' screen.
OEM UI skin (Touchwiz)

The Nexus Prime solves these common misconceptions/complaints by adding a 720p screen, metal body and stock android.

Yeah, some people have an odd idea of what build quality is. Can anyone give an example of how the build is bad?

Also, I've been using TouchWiz 4.5 for about a week now, I'm actually quite liking it.

I wouldn't even say 'cheap' is a fair comment either, light, it's as simple as that. The last 3 or 4 HTC devices I've had have not had good build quality.

The G2 had a loose hinge, creaked if you pressed it.

The Desire HD, there were times the battery cover would come off getting the phone out of my pocket! The DHD definitely creaked and groaned if any pressure was applied to it.

The Sensation rocks inside the back cover if you press the screen.

My SGSII is solid. No creaks, no groads, nothing moves if I press it. You can't make the back cover move at all, no bend, nothing. Amazing build quality.

I honestly believe those that say the SGSII has poor build quality don't really have a clue what they're talking about...

I agree perceived quality and first impressions on build aren't as high as it could have been - the official mesh case help to correct that.

I hate the feel of the sgs2 myself and that big ugly button, the things I will miss offmy desire are

The middle neat round button
The fact that they are real physical buttons
The optical ball.. Really useful for selecting where to put the cursor
The shell

While the desire was a good phone in it's time and I miss that I can't scroll using the central button the SGS2 improves (IMO) on all aspects of desire.

I guess there will official announcement in November and the phone will be available in December in time for Christmas.

TBH didn't look that great to me.

Smooth & fluid operation is a must though - jitters and stutters go towards ruining a good user experience.
