Nexus Prime

ICS will be a "solo release" of Android for phones/tablets but there will still be extensive customisation I suspect from the leading vendor pack. Manufacturers don't like stock - they like to make their products unique. It also does away with buttons in the usual android sense (Home/back/menu/search) but some may survive.
 
As has been eluded to, don't equate screen size directly to phone size. Honeycomb has menu, back buttons etc within the screen, not on the device. I would assume ICS will be similar, so if there is an extra 1 cm of screen, this may just occupy the space buttons would have taken on another device.
 
I gave my girlfriend my Nexus One when I upgraded to an Arc. Occasionally I have to show her how to do certain things on the phone and when I do I always think how perfect the size of the Nexus is compared to the the the Arc.

even with Honeycomb style buttons its still gonna be the width i mentioned earlier :confused:

I get the screen will be 56.25mm wide and 99.5mm high. (perfect 16 to 9 ratio)

My SGSII is 67mm by 125mm in total, a 4.5" could easily fit within that.

my numbers earlier were including bezel and were exact dimensions of the SE Arc.

4.2" @ 16:9 = 52.3 mm width (arc)
4.5" @ 16:9 = 56.25mm width ( nexus s)
4.3" @ 16:9.6 = 56.2mm (SGS2) width

therefore we should agree that the nexus prime should be the same width as the SGS2 if it has the same bezel size.


If it will be 4.65" as some rumours say it will be a bit too uncomfortable to hold imo
 
I don't think this person knows to much, just cobbling a story together from rumours they find on the net.

so some analysts have speculated that the Nexus Prime may do away with hardware buttons such as “home” and “back” found on smartphones.

I hope it's not too big :( . I love my Nexus One and was hoping this would be the upgrade for me... might have to get a SGS2, at least it'll be cheaper when the Nexus Prime is out.
 
Samsung Nexus Prime confirmed by a leaked UAProf

The Samsung Nexus Prime has appeared in a user agent profile (UAProf) on the Samsung website. The device model number will be I9250 and it will have a 480x800 (WVGA) resolution display. Previous rumors hinted at 720p screen ala Galaxy Note, but that's obviously not happening.

There's nothing else that we can deduce from this leak, but previous rumors suggested that the Nexus Prime will pack a 4.5-incher of the SuperAMOLED (Plus or not) variety and an Exynos chipset with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor.

Last, but not least it will feature the latest version of Android - 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

You really believe a third party site?

It's no where near proof of anything. iPhone rumour threads must teach you this.
 
I don't know what to believe to be honest, but it wouldn't surprise me if we get a slightly upgraded Galaxy S II.
 
Its a copy of 2 other xml files apparently. So you can disregard it pretty easily. The processor is wrong for starters, so you can assume most, if not everything else, is too.
 
Can't wait for ICS to be on my Galaxy S II. Surely Samsung will be able to update that fast :)

Wonder what new features the Prime will bring? Same goes for the new iPhone... What else can a phone do!
