Nexus Prime

Google need to announce a new date ASAP, today if possible.

The longer they leave it, the more people will be looking at getting an iPhone 4S, or thinking "Oh well, I might as well get the Galaxy S II anyway..."

I wonder if that earlier leak was deliberate, so people have a teaser of what it looks like and will be happier to wait.

I would have thought most of the people queuing up to buy the Prime will be clued up geeks so any delay really won’t have much of an impact on lost sales.

Some will be, but I think Google need to reach out to the non-clued up geeks at some point as well.

Geeks aren't that impatient though... (are they Jim? ;)) Most people just get a new phone when their contract runs out.

I'm waiting to see what the Sony Nozomi is like first (esp as the new iPhone still has that small screen and WP7 is stuck on older hardware)

Here's some impressive benckmarks for the SGS2 T-Mobile and its 1.5GHz S3 Snapdragon + overclocked GPU. (my new number one contender for the Galaxy Nexus SoC)

Wow just woke up :D

ICS looks lovely - and **** me what a turn of events - would apple have done the same?

And I was all looking forward to Tuesday. :p

Back on for the 27th? (I have no idea how reputable this website is though)

Just hours after the official co-statement, The Next Web has learned that the postponed event wouldn’t be delayed for long, with the new date for the Samsung Unpacked: Google Edition event being set for October 27.

The location has changed too, with London now welcoming both Samsung and Google to present their new hardware and software.

I am itching to know the official specs! because my contract is up for renewal on the 23rd and at the moment its looking like ill be getting myself the GS2 but wanting to know how much better the Prime will be

So, if Android 4.0 is the combined phone/tablet version, does that mean there will be an upgrade path from 2.3 to 4.0, and, more importantly for non rooted non custom ROM users like me, a fully supported upgrade path so HTC et al release the update for their devices?

I don't know about HTC (does anyone these days? :p) but I'd bet someone else's right leg that Samsung will be onboard pretty quickly. Google said all devices can use Android 4 after al.
