ive just booted up nvidia's monitoring application, and it says that the nfoce chipset is at 104C!!!! However, the system is completely stable, i have tried reseating both heatsinks, one of which is the hr05 sli for the southbridge, and stock for the northbridge. I have just put my fingers to the bottom of the heatsinks and neither feel particularly warm, even after 15 minutes. I fan speedfan, and none of the temperatures shown are above 50c. Is it just that nvidia's program is crap? i mean, the chip should be fried by now.

Are you using Ntune to monitor? If you are, get rid of that junk... use everest, but it isnt free tho, but it should still let you monitor temps.

yeah i just downloaded the trial, it says the same temps as speedfan. im guessing that means nothing is wrong then? the bios also says is is at about 45-50c. Its strange though, the nmonitor thing said is was only 55-65c yesterday. never mind i guess.

yeah everest is the most accrurate and i would believe that. I got wrong readings from Ntune aswell and it's also known to casue a lot of problems, so your better to uninstall it.
