Would really appreciate some help with this problem.
I have a Shuttle SN25P which has an onboard Gigabit Ethernet Controller (nforce 4 ultra chipset)
The Ethernet driver is at the latest version - 6.86
I am having an issue where the network dies approximately every 20-30 minutes. I have noticed online games time me out, or the internet stops working.
To try and find the cause of this, I set 4 continuous pings going from my shuttle.
1. To my router (it’s gateway)
2. To my ISP gateway
3. To my ISPs DNS Server
4. To bbc.co.uk
All are constant. After 20-25 minutes, all 4 stop and return “Request time out”
This last for around 20 pings or so, and then comes back. Or if I do a repair on the LAN connection, it comes back sooner.
I also did the same pings from a second machine (Intel Pro 100 LAN) – but this time, I pinged
1. My ISPs DNS
2. My Router
3. The Shuttle
Only the pings to the Shuttle drop when its problems starts.
Has anyone had similar problems or has any suggestions.
