If you're only using one sata hard drive it's easiest to use the nforce controller. This way you shouldn't need to install any drivers at the f6 prompt when you install Windows.

Arrrh, i've heard that loads of times the driverless install. Running a nForce A8N-SLI deluxe with Maxline III 250 plugged into nForce SATA port 1. I figure there must be a bios setting wrong somewhere like Silicon sata controller enabled or NVraid enabled and specifying which sata port is enabled. Also tried the asus cd sata drivers in the f6 option. Maxblast 4 works sometimes varying with the previous bios settings. hope i at least give some ppl some ideas

the system is up, and i would like to confirm that for the above sys you do not need drives during a clean windows install, just a working drive without bad pcb or what ever, maybe even a lose connection, however the drive is still tempermental.
Summary don't by MAXTOR
