Just wondered if anyone has any tips for drag racing, i was doing fine up until i got Mitsubishi evo and got a load of parts for it (currently nearly 800bhp) but I cant seem to beat cars at a much lower bhp. I've tried playing with the gear ratios etc but its just not happening! Anyone find the same thing?

Thanks :D

you need to have the weighht of the car where the driven wheels are, and the other end as light as possible, plus big tyres.

Drag race was probably the easiest part the game for me, apart from near the start before you get a decent motor. I typically get low 7s for the 1/4 mile and low 11s for the 1/2 mile (both @ 251mph).

One tip I suppose is on the starts, you actually need to shift BEFORE the green light. i.e. jump the gun, be quick on the gear trigger until you hit 4th or 5th (which should be 'longer' gears) and then hit the nitro.
If you don't 'cheat' on the starts then you are typically going to be giving up maybe half a second to your rivals.

Maybe head into the tuning and if that isn't helping it might be worth converting your Evo to another mode and buying a different drag car. I had good results with Corvette C6.

I've got my first 4 gears and max range but it seems to be first gear that i can't 'master' - even though its at max I still have to shift a split second later and then im losing ground.

By the end im catchin up be they are to far ahead....

A good cheap car I found for drag was the lotus elise, it couldn't do wheelies though so I replaced it later in the game. I have a zonda for drag and a Nissan 240sx for wheelies :)

i was playing the game till i got my mazda rx7 to 600+hp and it did a wheelie. like come on would mazda doing wheelie was kind a lame... pro street failed

they should just made everything same as need for speed underground 2 just with pro street game engine crashes and police it would be probably one of the best games but noo they have to mess everything up it seams like they not interested the profit they would get out of it
