NHL 09 seems to be the one to get, played the demo last night and currently looking for a copy of it.
Not only that but one of best made sports game of all time IMO. Honestly if your looking for an HD sports experience = NHL 09.

That video makes 09 look amazing. Love hockey games and would love to get one for my Xbox but £39.99? Not a chance I'm paying that much

I picked this up a couple of months back, and admittedly, it's only managed to get on the computer for about 3-4 hours, but I still haven't clicked with it and struggling to do so... so much so that I may let it go if on the next couple of outings I don't seem to get anywhere.
It's a shame really, as it looks like the game has SO much depth about it... if only i could have enough skill with the skill-stick

It takes a lot of time to get good using the skill-stick I've put in around 10 hours into NHL 3 on 3, and I still haven't mastered the skill stick. When ever I play someone that can use the skill stick, I get my ass handed to me.

Welcome to ea's global marketing.
Took me 3 weeks to find the game at retail for less than the rrp of 50 quid when it was released.
In the end i picked it up from a market retailer for 34 by pure chance. I got told by a couple of the guys that sell up the market that they don't stock because ea screw them on prices forcing to sell at rrp or there abouts.
Shame when you see tiger, fifa and whatnot for 20 notes on first week releases, nhl, madden ect... love nor money for less than 50.
Same everything, dev, distro, publish.. my pet peeve with ea

If you go to create a player you can test them on the ice....basically just you on the ice with a goalie....play that for 20mins here and there.
