OK so some guy calls me up in July from voda and says my contract is about to end. I purchased a sim free SGS2 around that time, so he talks me into a £15 per month, 300 mins, unlimited text and 500mb data, I thought that was an average deal (at the time most were same price apart from 3)

anyway my bill comes today for £50 much higher than normal, I ring up and question me going over my mins so much, as the original vodafone chap told me that i 'NEVER' go over 300, anyway the guy im speaking to says sorry, refunds me £35 and then ups my contract to 600 min, unlimited text and 1gb of data still for £15 per month until the end of the contract next year ... Happy Days :D

mainly my fault, so very pleased with customer service :)

I've had good experiences with Vodafone customer service too. I managed to convince them to 'just sell me' a Sensation extremely cheaply! :p

EXACTLY the same thing happened to me when I went SIM free and bought a phone outright.

300 minutes doesn't go as far as you think. As a means of saying sorry to me that bumped me to 900 mins, unlimited texts, 1gb of data, and 0845/0800 numbers come out of my inclusive minutes. £16 +VAT a month IIRC.

300 mins isn't a lot, I struggle with 400.

I tend to switch to skype in the last few days before my minutes renew.

My contract expires in April and I can upgrade over the phone from Jan/Feb or online as of now. All I want to do is get a sim only deal but have to wait, arse!

^^

wow you outdid me, i thought i was being pushy :D

They probably saw my file and thought "ah crap". I'm a business customer, despite it being a personal phone. Long story short my personal number was ported to my then employer, who ported it back when I left their services. Rather than set me up as a retail customer, they must have set me up as a new business. I've tried to get it changed but they told me "you're better off as a business customer".

That and I've had to mail the CEO to get a problem fixed before, which resulted in much free stuff and apologies.

PLUS, I'm now on a rolling SIM free plan with no contract end date so I'm guessing a lot of that was for retention purposes too.

I've heard this too, they deal with their business customers with top priority, and that goes for Vodaphone employees too.

I've had similar good experiences with Vodafone CS, I rang to question something on my bill, resolved that then the chaps asks anything eles? so I question why long texts are listed as MMS, he tells me it's a quirk of the systme and offers to refund me all the ones on my bill that month, result I'd say :)

The longer you have been with them and the more money you have spent the better they will be to you. The operator can look at your account and see how much money they have made out of you over the years. They like keeping the longer term customers happy as they know if they do, you will never leave.

I have been with them since day dot and I now pay less than £8 a month for unlimited calls and texts.

I was on a sim-only contract with voda, £15 a month. Expired a while back and I swapped to a monthly rolling contract with Virgin.

200 mins (I have a work mobile so this doesn't matter to me)
3000 SMS
1gb data

£10 a month, no tie so can leave when I want.

If vodafone could match that, and I did give them a chance, I would have stayed. My corporate phone is with voda so I now have a nice spread of signal too :)
