Hi People,

Looking for your advice on making game videos.
Currently have a nice and powerful PC but only one hard disk (1TB).
Looking to get a few more but not sure if a couple beefy SATA drives would do OR if I really need to be looking at SSD.

I know the SSD will be faster but can i get away with standard hard disks?
Just wondering what peoples experiences are or what you currently have setup?

Thanks all

If its storage just for making video's then you'll want space over speed. Get yourself another mechanical HDD. However, I'd still recommend getting yourself and SSD at some point. There's just no beating them for boot drive + games as they they're much much quicker than HDD's.

hdd's are fine for recording gaming footage, just find a decent video encoding software as the recordings usually chew up lots of gigabytes, you can reduce them down to a few hundred megabytes without losing quality

programs like fraps and msi afterburner will record well
