Nichelle Nichols - Lt. Uhura has died

It's sad that someone we watch and grow up with die. She, like many others of that era, are like an older extended family.

RIP.
I often google for recent picture of someone after they have died and it really brings home how much time ravages the body. In my mind she was still the young Lt Uhura on the Enterprise, but recent images show she obviously aged like everyone else has, and like we are. It's a constant reminder of how precious the years we have here are.

I didn't know who the name was at first but I remember her jet black hair and pointy curls.

Wasn't the original Star Trek reruns on BBC 2 between 6 or 6:30pm in the early 90s?

Not many of ToS left now :(

A sad day indeed.
Of the original bridge crew there's only George Takei, Walter Koenig, and William Shatner left now. Of course, Koenig wasn't even in the first series so you can probably take him off the original crew list.

RIP, very sad to see these icons of your childhood pass on. Also as someone else said RIP to David Warner who appeared in lots of Trek and was also the voice actor for Jon Irenicus in Baldurs Gate 2.

nooooo. RIP

pretty sure she was part of the first black and white kiss on tv

plus looks likes she was the first one to wear a bluetooth ear piece
