No idea!

Given that a taxi from town will cost over twenty quid and she'll do nothing but moan about it, I've given her the option of either stumping up the cash for the taxi or I'll go pick her up on the proviso that she makes it worth my while.

No reply as yet, which is charming hehe. She has til 0230 or else I'm going to bed......

Taxi service?

Pfft,

Hmph.

Now the rules have changed and she's saying make it 6 and it'll be really, really worth my while.

Why did I let myself get into this in the first place?

See my previous post...
Pfft, £20 is not THAT much.
3 options:
1, Taxi
2, Pick up at earlier time
3, Pick up when she wants for the cost of £20...and a lil' bit extra :p:D;)

Also, 6? Public transport will be up & running by then...

Walk of shame? Stride of pride my friend, stride of pride... :D

I assure you it would be the former. Her last message before she went out:

'I'll not be stopping out too late anyway, think my knickers show under this dress in the daylight!'

Some people have no shame :(

TTIUWOP :p

I kid :D

You know, you could be sleeping now & then get up at 6 to get her which will be "e really, really worth your while" & then more sleep? Seems pretty win to me!

There's no point in going to sleep now, I'm tired but not that tired and if I grab some sleep now there's no way I'll get up in time to pick her up. May as well just stay up.

I know what her idea of making it worth my while will be - falling straight to sleep and snoring loudly in my ear all morning.

Woke up at 02:45 to go to the loo to find the kitchen and bathroom half an inch deep in hot water. My first reaction was "What the **** have I left on?" Surprisingly, it turned out not to be something I'd done but a burst flexi hose to the hot tap on the bath. Switched off the water at the stopcock and mopped up the water from the floor and managed to get the flexi hose off but was at a loss as to where I was going to get a blank compression fitting at 3 am. Then, in a moment of pure genius, I remembered about the redundant tap outside. I now have an outside tap acting as a temporary blank until I can get a plumber in to replace the flexi hose. I can't have a bath but at least I can have the water back on. Good job I needed the toilet or the flooding could have been a lot worse. Even better it didn't happen later today as I'm off to Dunbar for a few days then off to work - it could have been days before anyone noticed.

Not tired now so having a cup of tea to calm myself down.

Damn, that sucks. Good though that you dodged a bullet with it happening sooner rather than later. Hope there isn't too much damage done.

A very good idea, I've no mini-crisis, but I feel a cup of tea is called for nonetheless.
