night vision camera

hello

last night someone has cut the valves of my van tires.

so i need a cheap night vision camera that i can hook up to my pc and record.

if anyone knows of any good ones (that are not to dear) could you let me know.

also any good programs to record

I know how you feel as I had the dust caps stolen from my car and one of the tyres deliberately punctured in the side wall so I had to get a new tyre.

Anyway ebay is a good source for IR network cams - I got one that had a microphone built into it too for £80. It needs to be outside for the night vision to work well as the reflection from a window renders it useless.

You just need to fit an infra red bulb to the outside of your house to illuminate the area.

human eyes wont see it, but any normal camera/camcorder/cctv will be able to operate as normal using this invisible light.

so would a camera on the inside of the window not work?

If the camera and the IR light are on the same side of the window its the same effect you get when you turn on a normal light ie it turns the window into a mirror.
