Nightfall or Factions

Another question, what is it that you are supposed to do, after you get to level20 and complete the main quest. What armour can you collect, are there special places to go for items?

Collecting Fissure of Woe armor will occupy you for a bit. ;)

Rofl, FOw armour is, quite a task :P

Been to Droks? Sorrows furnace?

Most people farm in underworld or FOW at the temple of ages. Make a good build of whatever char you have, ie: ele- echo/renewal nuker, ranger - trapper/barrager etc

Its what you "log into" everytime you play. Basically a user interface, you can donwload it, regitser a game, login without putting the cd in the drive. BUt it'll take about 78 years to download form the gw servers ;)

It'll install straight of the cd/dvd

I just installed my Phrophices client, in preperation for Nightfall, yet I still have to spend hours downloading the files, when I log into the game :/

I think theres atleast a gig of updates, and it preloads content available in NF and factions (cus players can use them in original game too) Still a whole bunch of goodies to download even if you use the disks.

Usings the disks just reduces load time between areas, instead of 5 mins download the map, its about 20 seconds downloading the content :)

Start a new character! they give you plenty of slots for a good reason.

I dont really care about farming FoW or the underworld, i just start a new character and experience the game in a new way, its totally different.

Make 2 copies of your GW Shortcut.

Rename one of them "Image" and have the shortcut read:
"x:\Guild Wars\gw.exe" -image

Then double click it before going to bed.

Then when you play - No download times for any maps. :)
And Story wise:
Prophecies > Nightfall > Factions
For weapons and HERO'S!
Nightfall > Prophecies > Factions

just 'image' GW about once a month and there is no need to download stuff when playing.

Annoys me when I go into a mission with someone, then the rest of the group spends 5 mins waiting on them tho! :p

If you play with others too, I find it polite. :)
(To avoid holding up 7 other players... Not just yourself)

EDIT to below - Sometimes it just takes a while for the servers to provide it.
Especially if there's someone who's never been there before, and has a slower PC... When you head to a new city and it says "18000 files remaining", it's not 5 seconds. :p But for those who do not seem to instantly get the updates (99% of people) then -image is sooo worthwhile.

Lush colourful graphics of WoW?

WoW
GW

So, yes, theres zones of both type in both games, and WoW is probably more green overall, but look at the place outside of Orgrimmar in the day, its so bright for me, I couldn't see much at all.

Edit: If you want to compare them some more, don't, just imagine what an awesome game it would be if you could take some of the awesome things from GW and add them to WoW, or visa versa. :) Map travel to your favorite instance, anyone?

Well, I wouldn't call the GFX in WoW 'lush'. :p
Colourful yes, but polygon count is severely lacking compared to GW.

@WotDa - Sooo miss Map -> Double click.
And the 'builds' you can generate in GW, being able to have that versatility in WoW would be great. But then enchanting weapons etc in GW would also add a lot. As well as more storage! (I have 3 storage chars in GW.)

I def prefer nightfall, but after recently starting a World of Warcraft character, I'd suggest that anyone bored with GW or looking for something a little different downloads the WOW trial and gives that a go. Remember to download it from the Euro website as the US and Euro characters are not interchangeable should you decide to subscribe.

WoW whilst not graphically amazing, does have some very good use of colour etc in places, not to mention, as MMORPGs its far superior to GW, as theres just so so much more to do, ofc you pay for this, quite literally with the subscription fee :)
