Hi all, I am looking for some information from some of you guys here about flashes, for nikon cameras. I'll tell you what I need it for. I have been asked to help a friend out at a wedding to take a few photos away from the professional photographer, but I dont have a flash, so I will be wanting to take pictures of maybe some scenery but 90% people/subjects. I would say more so inside as we are hoping its a good day outside and i shouldnt need a flash I think. Anyone got any ideas oh what i might need?

Btw I have a nikon d80 if that helps. Im not looking something expensive, possibly cheapish as im not sure if I would need to use it a lot thereafter but if the picturees turn out decent I may want to keep it a while before I would upgrade it to a better flash.

SB-600 would be good. If you have more money then there is always the SB-900.

You can look 2nd hand for a SB-600 or SB-800.

The SB-600 will do everything you want and you can just plug and play.

Used to have a D80 and SB-600 myself and did a wedding for a friend with that combination. Worked very well. The SB-600 is a bang for the buck gem. I now use an SB-900 and while it is a very nice flash, TBH I could have stuck with the SB-600 for 90% of what I use it for. Even if you do decide to upgrade at some point in the future it may still be worth keeping the SB-600 as it makes a good slave unit.

If you can stretch to it go for a SB800 as it'll last forever.

Bit scarce on the ground now though due to the SB900.

SB600 is a reasonable bit of kit though
