I was going to say the same thing. It take a very specific set of circumstances to get it to happen and when it does it normally isn't that bad, and other camera are also effected.
Nikon is doing this because they rightly got a lot of bad press over the D600 and D800 issues.
These days eben the most minor things bet blown out of proportion and then you get thousands of owners unable to properly test the camera claiming they have the issue. for example the D800 left focus issues affected about 1% of cameras and on every forum people would post photos of their broken camera when it was clearly not tested properly.
Kudos for Nikon for finally getting their arse in gear and resolving this mostly non-issue quickly.
