NIN

[opethdisciple]

Any one here rate Nine inch Nails?

Never been able to get in to them at all. But recently I have been listing to stuff that remind me of NIN.

Any albums that you recommended?

This is a track I like. I like the irregular beat and constant shift in beats etc...

To be honest with you, I have been listening to a lot of Depech Mode recently.

I would say there is a little bit of similarity to NIN, except NIN is lot more metal and industrial, whilst DM is more pop/synth, but there is definetly some overlaps.

I'v just finished my first listen of 'With teeth' album, and I quite like it so will take a listening to the other albums recommended above.

I particulalry enjoyed 'Sunspots'.

Tune!

Me thinks Im going to like NIN.

No idea why I never liked it before to be honest with you. I guess we are all closed minded at certain times in our lives.

I like the song in the OP. Reminds me of Radiohead actually.

Where's the best place to start with NIN?

Big Radiohead fan myself.

I would suggest listening to some Depeche mode albums as well:

Playing the Angel
Sounds of the Universe
Exciter
Violator

So far, best album I have found from NIN is 'With Teeth'

Every track is great and really well crafted.

Also 'Pretty Hate Machine' seems good as well.

For me the order from best to worst (worst being relative) is:

The Fragile
The Downward Spiral
Pretty Hate Machine
Year Zero
With Teeth
The Slip

Ignoring EPS and remix stuff.

Il give the fragile another listen, but it seemed to me during the first listen like it was just soundscapes, hardly any singing.

This is a tune:
