Nintendo Stars

I'm slowly collecting my stars, but there appears to be absolutely nothing worth spending them on! Are Nintendo planning to do anything useful with them? Polyphonic ring tones and wall papers just don't interest me! Wii points would be nice!

They are supposed to be letting users convert them to Wii points, god only knows when/if this will actually happen though

It is getting very frustrating now, I'm slowly approaching the 10000 mark and they haven't given away any merchandise in such a long time now just the odd game here and there.

I still check on a regular basis (did this morning before I knew this thread was here) but they are starting to annoy me.

The stars are still being given out in new games so whats the deal??
