*** Nintendo Wii Fits at OcUK ***

went to my local retail park today, no fewer than 2 stores had this in for RRP. I think i'd prefer OcUK not to bother than getting a bad name for jumping on the overcharging bandwagon. Just my 2c.

I don't think it's unreasonable for OcUK to hike up the price. They're only a small company in comparison to [the usual online stores] so need to make profit where they can. The only downside is that it gives the impression to the customer of a small-time firm (which it is, but I doubt the company wants to project that image!).

Jesus, the ban hammer is gonna be working overtime in this thread if we don't watch out.:p

I found OCUK because i wanted a retailer specialising in performance pc parts, fits for overclocking etc.

I have nothing against them stocking other stuff at all, but they MUST do it at a reasonable price.
I wonder what % of OCUK forum users are actually customers?
I use them for personal and business purchases, and don't want to see cheap shots like this wii fit selling at almost double the rrp 'just because they can'.

Surprised it's not happened already actually. Negative comments about the shop are usually treated with zero tolerance.

I know what I think about this and their past console stock in general, however I also value my account :p

Suppliers charging a premium for a bulk order? That's a new one in business I must admit, normally it's the other way around.

Not when the product is in major allocation worldwide!

Nintendo have official supply sources and then there are companies that purely look for hard to find products i.e. Wiis last year and Wii Fits currently. Companies like ourselves get offered these products at a huge premium but at the end of the day there are plenty of other people who would take them so if we don't pay the price they want then they simply offer them elsewhere.

We had a very small quantity of Wii Fit on the launch date which was official UK stock and we sold them at RRP pricing.

Ok, then a question.
If OCUK can only get a small quantity (i'm assuming it is small), then why risk the backlash (ie. this thread) all for a small profit?
I know its providing a service so to speak for the muppets that WILL pay the asking price, but as has been said earlier, it caters for the desparate, and does nothing to bring down or level out prices for such products.

Personally i think this thread is a must have for fair commentary and 'customers' are expressing their views in here. Good for us.....and hopefully good for OCUK, if they listen to constructive criticism.

I understand what your saying, but as an ocuk customer for over 10 years i struggle to see any good of them doing this, its important they know how we feel so that maybe in the future they re-think about things like this especially with the low qty/profit to be made.

OcUK would not benefit by banning users that have comments which they can use postively, not all comments are good.

ROfl @ that price

Thats a ridiculous mark up.

I would like to say that was true - but our mark up is minimal. This is a high demand product which has already sold well - whilst some people will not wish to pay more than the stated RRP, and I can understand that, this is a case of supply & demand, of which demand is massively outstripping supply.

If we could get them cheaper we would and pass on the savings.

Thanks for the post Rupert. I for one, without brown-nosing, appreciate that OCUK staff, and the MD no less actually pays attention and takes the time to post in the forum.
