Nirvana

Dimple what happend to the musical education you gave your daughter?

I let my daughters get on with their own lives and don't make choices for them but they are into guitar based music so that's all good.
My youngest is coming to watch the Led Zeppelin film with me on Thursday.
Both of them are into the Foo Fighters who are a bit soft for me but it's still rock.

Loved them in my pre-teen years (older bro had the tapes), probably because he liked them...

Think they are a bit 'meh' now and would probably flip the channel if they came on. Just a bit dull, if I'm honest.

Soundgarden for Seattle win.

I love badmotorfinger and its my favourite album of all time.

But I'm kinda "meh" about their other stuff and its weird. I like a few songs on down on the upside but hardly any on superunkown.

Badmotorfinger has outshined, slaves and bulldozers, rusty cage, jesus christ pose...just awesome song after awesome song.

I heard their new "single" on jools holland and didn't sound too good. Although I'll buy the album.

I must say Superunknown is actually my favourite...

I grew up with Nirvana and Pearl jam, I loved the Seattle grunge bands. Still love and listen to Pearl Jam weekly but not Nirvana so much. Still, don't have the hate for them that some do. "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" still remains one of my favourite tracks.

Loads of my friends were into them in the 90's, but I never really liked their sound or thought they were very good musicians.

I liked the rock music that came before them like Motley Crue, GnR etc etc, and I liked harsher metal like Sepultura and Slayer. Nirvana always seem to occupy a dead area in between the two.

Ugly sounding guitars, very limited musicanship, boring arrangements. Listened to all their albums way too much at parties and friends houses.

I was big into them in the 90s but I'm not so keen now. Can still listen to some of their stuff but a lot of it is dross and boring to me now.

I put the Unplugged album onto my iPod recently thinking it would be ace and was seriously disappointed.

Seriously into Nirvana. Have to admit that I started listening to them right at Nevermind. Was probably 15-16 at the time and was just getting into Music, Drinks and Stuff in a big way.

A friend brought the 'Tape' round of Nevermind and it was definitely a WOW, this **** is seriously cool along with The Doors first album.

Love Nirvana, especially for what they have given the Music industry in the 90s.
PLenty of my favourite bands and bands of my youth were heavily Nirvana influenced and formed of what is dubbed the "Post-Grunge" bands.

Loved them. Soundtrack of my teens :)

Still enjoy whenever one of their songs pop up on a playlist/radio.
