Nissan Juke vs. Lorry M42

Video isn't showing but just from your description I'd say the Juke as they were the one joining the carriageway.

Edit: Now I've seen the video definitely the lorry the Juke was well into and travelling in the lane well before the lorry moved over.

Can't really decide. Really unfortunate timing and the Juke appears to be in the blindspot, though that isn't an excuse.

Though saying that, I'd not have moved over until after the slip-road if I had that sort of blindspot.

At least the lorry kept going to get out of the way / prevent further incidents.

Lorry's fault - Duke was clearly in the lane for a little bit before the lorry attempted to move over.

Plus the lorry only indicated to move over once the Duke was established in the lane.

could not see enough of the Juke but did seem to be in the blindspot of the lorry when he moved into the lane.

Lorry's fault, changing lanes = give way, regardless if it's joining a motorway or not, anyone already driving in a lane has the right of way.

Juke has already finished his manoeuvre before the lorry started to go to the left. At the time the lorry was moving to the left, the juke was already in that lane, the lorry should have yielded...

Idiot juke driver for staying in a blind spot though, asking for it.

If it was simultaneous, it'd be 50/50, but this is clearly :

Juke changes lane.
Lorry changes lane > Lorry hits Juke already there.

It's a bit of a shame because the lorry couldn't see the Juke in that position, but it's his responsibility.

Whilst I wouldn't put the Juke driver at fault, I'm always a bit wary of lorries in that situation, especially if there's a junction or fork up ahead. I think the Juke could have perhaps avoided that by hanging back out of the lorry's blind spot, as he would have then better seen him start to make his maneou.. manoev.. lane change, and then brake.

Lorries fault entirely. Juke had completed maneuver before the lorry even signalled his intentions.

Professional driver should know better than to not triple check lanes at a slip road before moving.

Tbh, triple check all you want if the juke is in a blind spot all the checking in the world would not help.

You could say that the lorry could have anticipated someone there and that he should changed his speed to make sure, but otherwise, he couldn't have done much.

Yep :).

The juke didn't really have anywhere to go from what I can tell. I personally think that is more the truck driver's fault than the Juke driver's.

Lorry IMO - hope the person with the cam stopped to give details to the Joke driver given the fact it would probably have a big impact on any insurance claim?

Lorry's fault. The Juke is out of the slip road and in the inside lane. The lorry driver doesn't check his inside and moves across onto the Juke. It's possible the Juke happens to come out into the inside lane and is in the lorry's blind spot, but the lorry driver obviously assumed he had a space there, and didn't check the passenger mirror or else he would have seen a honking big yellow Juke.

You just see the Juke jink sideways, so there may have been an opportunity there to brake, or lean on the horn. I see too many people sitting on the motorway in people's blind spots, although you can't trust drivers to check their blind spots properly, but in this case, the Juke hardly had any time on the motorway before the lorry decided to shift over into the inside lane without checking if it was actually empty.

I'd guess from the ending positions that the Juke tries to accelerate up the inside and the front left of the lorry tags the back half of the Juke as the lorry goes left, and that's what turns the Juke flat across the front of the lorry.
