Nitrogen in tyres

Fill em up with Jam/marmite/marmalade and Peanut butter on each wheel then you could have a handy snack if you feel the need

Its probably all faff and BS, but who knows - might make a difference... dont prestige (or rather expensive) cars come with standard?

That's the theory, the fact is you should regularly check you tyre condition/pressure regularly regardless and of course every time you top up your pressures you replace some of the original 20% oxygen with 80% nitrogen air. If the original premise is correct you very quickly end up with nitrogen in your tyres regardless and it's free

Thats exactly what I was thinking. Glad I'm not the only one to have that thought.

Unless it's a tractor! They sometimes have their tyres water filled for ballast...

I am not sure about normal road cars with Nitrogen but i know the BTCC Touring cars use Nitrogen in there tyres.

Could you feel you tires up with water

vehicles that have to go into deep water often have there tyres filled up to 50% with water to minimise the flotation effect when they go in the water. I used to drive a RNLI 4 wheel drive submersible tractor that would be perfectly drivable in 4 or 5 feet of water

Oh btw, if anyone's considering it: don't. The tyres do go down, mine are flat as pancakes!

WHAT? Do people not check their tyre pressures any more? Can they not go to a pump and add air? Are they really that incapable? I've never heard such a load of rubbish in my entire life. I swear if I got charged for nitrogen in my tyres I'd tell them to take it out and fill them with air instead!!! It's probably some **** and bull because a bottle of nitrogen is cheaper and takes up less space than a noisy expensive compressor.
