If I was to purchase a 7900 card is it worth buying the top end oc cards or buying lower down the food chain even a 7800 and oc myself, to gain similair results? I am looking for quality graphics when I attach this to my 37" lcd tv as well as general use through my 19 monitor
 
If you want guaranteed overclocks then buy the pre-clocked models, if you are willing to risk that it might not overclock much(at all in very rare cases) then save some money and get a 'standard' version. The 7900gt cards are all supposed to be overclocking very well but that doesn't make it certain that every single one will :)
 
Thanks for the info I will take note things have come along way in the last twelve months. I hope nividia bring out news of its next gen gpu (g80) soon as that around it may help me justifly the small fortune I will need to lay out. :rolleyes:
