Hey guys

A mate has given me a set of Tritton pro + headphones today and i think i should be able to get 5.1 out of them. However, and i have found this problem before, there is no option for 5.1 under the settings in realtek manager?

So do i have to go the route of the 3 aux cables instead?

You will need those drivers if your motherboard doesn't have Dolby Digital Live enabled by the manufacturer. Nearly all Realtek codecs are capable of DDL and DTS Connect, but it's up to the manufacturer whether they enabled those features in the drivers. They tend to only enable them with the higher end boards, probably to avoid the royalty fees on cheaper boards and also use it as another feature for higher end gaming boards.

If you can't get the unlock to work, then you'll either to use any analogue cables if you can (assuming the headset supports 5.1 analogue input), or buy a sound card that has Dolby Digital Live.
