Just bought a laptop and was confused to find that CTRL+ALT+DELETE doesn't bring up TM, but that you have to right click the taskbar in order to get it.

However, right-clicking shows the Task Manager option to be greyed-out.

Is this a crappy mod to vista that is shipped with laptops, or is there a way that I can get to Task Manager?

CTRL ALT AND DELETE does work on Vista for TaskManager, except you get an extra screen giving Task Manager as an option with the crtl alt and del menu

Anyway of having the straight to TM with CTRL-ALT-DEL? I don't like the screen where you have to select TM. 2000/XP much quicker.

Ctrl+Alt+Del has always traditionally in the NT line shown a screen similar to what you're seeing in Vista. Just learn to use Ctrl+Shift+Esc in future.

ElvisFan: If it's greyed out in the taskbar and Ctrl+Shift+Esc doesn't work then you've disabled it somewhere. Have a look in gpedit.msc
