No Bashing please. 780 or nvidia or ATI

Please stop generalizing as if everyone is obliged to like all PhysX effects and the amount of effects chucked on screen.

The majority of the people i play BL2 with are NV owners and they all have PhysX effects on low, just like me, there is no off option.

Someone sounds sore

Don't know why anyone would put the effects on low unless they are using an old card. Everyone I know using NV really like the physx effects in BL2.

To much clutter on the screen even on medium, we like to see what we are shooting at, but im not surprised that you could not think of a reason for others to have a differing taste and opinion to yours and you fall back to the typical you all must be sore because its impossible for others to not have the same taste as yours because we are all clones but some of us must be defective :).

TressFX runs on any AMD or Nvidia graphics card, and it costs nothing extra in hardware, plus you can switch it off if it ****es you off. However, its hilarious PhysX is touted as some willy waving extra feature which is worth paying for, especially since BL2 is one of the few PhysX games(I would say the only I can remember) which had some decent enough effects, but then the fluid and spatter effects were massively overdone too, otherwise it would technically run OK on a CPU.

Another defective clone in this thread.

Guys, as the title says no bashing. Every one has their own opinions. Let it be.
I wanted to know what people thought about their gaming experiences.

I went with a nvidia gtx 780 after running ati cards for well over a decade. Part of that choice was down to curiosity and the other part was simply down to the horrendous idle power consumption on the ati cards when running multi monitors. So far it's been a very smooth transition from my old HD6970 as i've not had any issues to deal with. The only drawback's for me with anything from nvidia is that things like g-sync and 3d you have to pay extra for where it was free with ati. For example, i ran 3d to my panasonic plasma via the 6970 in a few games without any problem, but now i can't do it without paying for the 3dtv software add on. It's even more irritating when you've paid more for the card than the equivalent ati card. I'm glad that i don't care much for 3d or g-sync. PhysX is nice too, but not something i'd pay extra just to have.

+1

Absolutely right.

Personally I like the physx effects in BL2, and even if others don't share the same sentiments as someone that does like it, there's no need for them to be so aggressive. I can understand what people mean when they mention that the effects can be a little too much when you're trying to target something, but I'd rather have them than not.

I like PhysX
Put a lot of hours into Borderlands 2. Turned PhysX off to see what it looked like, the difference was huge. AMD owners are missing a lot when playing Borderlands 2.

If you play PhysX titles, it's definitely worth it.

This is all I said ^
A simple opinion

I'd like to know how you somehow took personal offence to an opinion? How was I generalizing?

You obviously are over sensitive about PhysX in BL2 or have gotten the wrong end of the stick.
I post my opinion & you jump on it as if I am saying everyone is obliged to have the same. I find it strange that you read it that way, as that is not how it was intended and reading back I still struggle to see how you managed it. Maybe you shouldn't post on internet forums until you can differentiate between people with simple opinions and people who feel everyone should have the same opinion.

TBH by the way you reacted to my opinion it looks like anyone with a different opinion than you is in your crosshairs

You clearly dont understand what that bold part implies.

Your simple opinion was a generalizing one and i gave my opinion and a valid reason why myself and others may differ from yours and i have a right to tell you so, its nothing to do with taking an offense and that should be the end of it.

Having a different opinion to me is not the issue, the issue is having a different opinion to me and implying that we all should have the same which is what you have done while claiming otherwise, hence you cant see why

as if there is no other valid reasons and you still carry on even after you have been given other valid reasons= no_1 sign of not being able to accept others having a different opinion, while i have no issue at all with others liking the effect's and the amount on screen.

Physx - what's that? 24 6.78%
Physx - no thanks! (Unimpressed) 124 35.03%
Physx - neutral 70 19.77%
Physx - nice extra if price / performance lines up. 93 26.27%
Physx - factors in the decision 33 9.32%
Physx - must have! (Diehard fan) 10 2.82%

Don't presume to know what others like and know what they feel they are missing out on.
And that is the end of it.

Your simple opinion was generalizing one.

I didn't know why anyone would drop the setting down. Now I do because people in this thread have since said. That is not a generalizing opinion at all. You simply over reacted and chose to derail an otherwise decent thread where for once no one was flaming anyone

No Bashing please. 780 or nvidia or ATI as per title guys kiss n make up or w/e just state ur option n move along :)

I keep out of commenting in 99% of which card to buy threads as i dont like to influence people without good reason and most of the time there is little said that i feel worth commenting on unless i see blatant misinformation as i personally dont care what other people buy.

GTX780. Find one that is already factory clocked to 1Ghz+ (GA Ghz, PNY XLR8, Zotac AMP, etc), comes with 3 fans cooling solution and try to buy for less than £380.

I bought a PNY XLR8 OC end of November and haven't looked back. Superb card, runs everything maxed out on 1080p, and can play games that support Vision 3d also. As for Physx, the games are so few (around 55 since 2007) that isn't the "buying" factor for me, neither is the G-Sync, or the other crap.

Btw upgraded from 2 7950s and I run the 780 at factory overclocks 24/7. Nothing has beaten it yet to ramp it up to 1297 overclock that can achieve with the factory BIOS.

But you cannot go wrong with a R9 290 factory overclocked at 1000+ either, especially if your CPU isn't an i5/i7 but an AMD one, so you can benefit from Mantle.
