No Bashing please. 780 or nvidia or ATI

GTX780. Find one that is already factory clocked to 1Ghz+ (GA Ghz, PNY XLR8, Zotac AMP, etc), comes with 3 fans cooling solution and try to buy for less than £380.

I bought a PNY XLR8 OC end of November and haven't looked back. Superb card, runs everything maxed out on 1080p, and can play games that support Vision 3d also. As for Physx, the games are so few (around 55 since 2007) that isn't the "buying" factor for me, neither is the G-Sync, or the other crap.

Btw upgraded from 2 7950s and I run the 780 at factory overclocks 24/7. Nothing has beaten it yet to ramp it up to 1297 overclock that can achieve with the factory BIOS.

But you cannot go wrong with a R9 290 factory overclocked at 1000+ either, especially if your CPU isn't an i5/i7 but an AMD one, so you can benefit from Mantle.

I have 2 7950's as well MSI TF3 default 960 (although I cannot find a review over 880). One card is a 7970 PCB and will not go over 1100. The other will do 1250 according to CCC.

Why did you change? No regrets?

No regrets. I had an FX8350 @ 5Ghz with 2 7950s @ 1100\1550
Many games I play don't/didnt support CF. WOT, WT, TW Rome 2 (back then).

So got rid the lot, and bought myself the parts to build my new rig.

OK made up my mind. Going to get the GeForce GTX 780 Classified. Just need to sell my MSI's for £300. Shame I have got enough posts to put it in the MM. Brought them in April & July last year.

AMD owner's still have a vote. They obviously bought an amd card because Physx was not important to them which is an option in the survey. A lot of Nvidia owners also say it was not a factor in them choosing Nvidia.

PhysX (in all seriousness) has never been a consideration for me when choosing nVidia - I wish it was as I'm a big fan of properly done hardware accelerated (or atleast advanced) physics but sadly there are few titles that use even a token level of what a proper hardware physics API can do.
