hi,just rebuilt my rig and added a third gtx470.now the pc takes ages to boot and does'nt show the bios screen.it's just black then goes straight into windows?any ideas? i can't get into the bios

How many screens have you got attached? Have you checked the outputs not going to one of them?

On my newly built system which has a monitor and TV attached for movies, the BIOS appears on the TV (and I don't usually see it as its on a TV channel) and it only switches to my monitor once windows starts to load.

It sounds like you are not using the primary header. It can be anywhere on a multi GPU setup tbh. IIRC it was the second port on the second GTX 295 for me.

Not the power supply as you got a decent one...Try taking them out and try them one by one? Do they all post individually? Try reconnecting them and making sure they're connected into the slot properly.

Like ALXAndy said, it could be that the video is outputting from one of the other cards, try switching your video cable between the cards until you can get a picture?

If you wait until you would usually get post and then press PAUSE BREAK it should stop your system at post, allowing you time to find the correct output :)

Mine does the same thing, very annoying.

spoke to soon.all 3 cards are working in sli and battlefield 3/2 work fine with no crashes, but i'm not getting any bios post so i can't get into bios.it stays blank then goes straight into windows.if i press delete to get into bios it just stops the post all together and i have to restart???????what is going on

maybe the intel gpu is enable/set to primary..

connect a monitor to the motherboard dvi and see if you can get into the bios.

edit your motherboard doesn't have a onboard dvi?

When it "just stops" have you tried moving the connection for your monitor between the various outputs on all 3 of your 470 cards? It will definitely show POST on one of the outputs, you just have to find it. If this doesn't work by pressing DEL then your only choice is to do this...

- Card 1 - DVI port 1 - test for POST image on screen
- Reboot
- Card 1 - DVI port 2 - test for POST image on screen
- Reboot

- Card 2 - DVI port 1 - test for POST image on screen
- Reboot
- Card 2 - DVI port 2 - test for POST image on screen
- Reboot

- Card 3 - DVI port 1 - test for POST image on screen
- Reboot
- Card 3 - DVI port 2 - test for POST image on screen

If you're connecting via the HDMI port then this process will be quicker as there's only one per card.

Do you have more than one monitor/TV connected?

only 1 monitor.i have tried all the outputs.i have just updated to a beta driver and selected clean install.it removed the old driver and then went blank and stayed there.i had to restart.i took off the sli bridge and it starts fine with bios post.tried different sli bridges.

ok,had a fiddle.i put the sli bridge back on all three cards but took out the power leads to the third card i added and it posted fine with the bio0s post showing up.when i put the power leads back i get nothing.wierd as i said all three cards work fine in tri sli gaming but i just get no bios screens
