I need help quick i loaded xp and my pc just keeps restarting before xp loads it just says Low Virtual memory then reboots... how do i solve this i cant get into xp to change the paging file please help thanks

i'm guessing at some point you've disabled virtual memory then? i must admit i haven't heard of this preventing xp from starting....

you mention new drives? can you go back to how your system was before and adjust the page file settings and then re-connect them?

not sure which you mean i have 3 new sata drives and it wonr boot up from the C drive so i dont have a prior system state... i dont understand what is happening oh one thing i have to use two disks to load xp on as there both scratched but if i swap them about during install i can get xp installed could this of caused it?? maybe something has been missed during the swapping around

 unplug all the drives except the one windows is on. if it boots, right click my computer, properties, advanced, performance>settings, advanced tab, virtual memory>change. from there select "system managed". now shutdown the pc cleanly. re-connect the new drives and try again.

i just tried that same again... its a new install i havent even got into windows yet lol... im thinking its cos i used two disks to load with will get a new xp tomoz thanks a lot marc2003 :)
