No boot when using ram slots 1 and 2 ?

Asus Maximus ii formula p45 motherboard with odd issue.

No boot when using ram slots 1 and 2 , but fine in slots 3 and 4.

The memory sticks are fine, both work.

Haven't noticed any speed differences between single channel ( which i now have to run ) and dual channel tbh.

Any ideas ?

Do you have any other RAM to test in those slots? It may be just finicky with that set. Also you used the latest BIOS to ensure memory compatibility?

Otherwise unfortunately I'd agree with the previous post :/

the memory controller on 1 and 2 could be a gonner. I take it you've tried 1 and 3 populated in which case no boot?
