This is weird. Just noticed that, of my Hitachi 750GB and Samsung 1TB drives, if I go into device manager then the Hitachi is showing as "Multi-Word DMA Mode 2" with the "Enable DMA" box ticked yet the Samsung shows as "PIO Mode 4" and the "Enable DMA" box is unticked. Ticking it and closing then re-opening the dialog does nothing - it stays un-ticked".
Anyone got any ideas here? It's a DS3P v1.0 mobo using the Intel on-board controller in ACHI mode with the standard Vista drivers. Vista x64 SP1 btw.
