Came back to my PC to find the screen blank but the lights still on.

There is no output from any graphics output although at one point I saw the BIOS password screen then foolishly turned off thinking all OK. PC seems to power up and all the fans come on.

I've stripped and rebuilt outside case with only one stick of ram, no gpu or disks etc. Reset CMOS and pulled the battery out.

No way of knowing any beep codes as no speaker out on my ITX board.

Does the fact I have seen a BIOS screen mean the cpu isn't dead and its probably the mobo?

Thanks.

OK found some more stuff out.

If I try to force the backup BIOS to flash by holding down power button, then nothing happens when using onboard...I get a blank screen and the PC stays on.

If I do the same using the 970 then the gigabyte logo comes up but it won't enter BIOS and goes into a boot loop.

Thanks.

Back from GB today with an updated bios.

Don't really know the ins and outs yet but it works.

They had it Friday so good service
