No IDE Master HDD detected

Yesterday my Raid 0 array failed thanks to my seagate 7200.11 bricking itself. Thanks to briliant firmware.(Thats already been covered in many threads)

The broken drive has been sent off and i was going to install Vista on the one drive and go from there. I Set sata config as ide ( is that right). When pc boots it detects the hardrive but posts

No IDE Master HDD detected

Not sure what to do!!!

What kind of board is it? There are some Asus boards which have a daft SATA implementation which only emulates IDE Masters in certain sockets. Try using the lowest numbered SATA port and see how you get on.

ITs an Maximius Extreme. and ur right it was in sata port 4. Never a problem when it was in raid put in port 1 and everything is fine!
